AU PAIR PLACEMENT
GREAT OPPORTUNITIES for young adults 18 – 30 yrs. to TRAVEL & WORK ABROAD !
Canada shares cultural exchange programs with many different countries and we are pleased to offer Canadians the opportunity to travel and experience a new culture while improving your language skills and making new international friends. Host families welcome you into their home, provide you with a private bedroom, full board and plenty of free time to attend language classes, sightsee, meet friends and really experience the culture of your chosen country. This opportunity is also available for au pairs from other countries with which Canada shares a cultural exchange program, who are interested in coming to Canada on our Working Holiday / Youth Mobility Visa. Most visas are issued for a maximum 12 month period and most positions are for 9 to 12 months, with some opportunities for 2 to 6 month placements.
We work in close co-operation with our overseas partner agencies who carefully screen the prospective host families . Our Agencies will be there to welcome you and provide support and assistance throughout your stay. All placements will conform to the cultural exchange program Canada shares with the country you will be working in. Au Pairs usually work 25 to 35 hours / week, but each country’s program has slight differences. Duties of the AuPair are mainly child care related with very light housekeeping which may include cleaning, ironing, washing up after meals and some assistance with meal prep. You will be “an extra pair of hands” helping your host family and living as a family member. Occasional babysitting is also required but usually is arranged separately. Many European families want their AuPair to teach their children English so this is also an important factor. Ireland also offers those interested in rural or county placements who have an interest in farming or horses, the opportunity to work outside on a farm or in a family with horses .
Great care is taken to match applicants and host families. You will receive full information on any interested host family before any agreement is reached . There will also opportunity for you to e-mail, speak with, and Skype your host family to get to know them better prior to accepting a Job Offer and leaving Canada. We carefully screen all Canadian applicants prior to forwarding your completed application to our overseas agencies. Trafalgar Personnel Limited staff will complete a personal interview, provide assistance with the application process, support when you choose your host family , provide assistance throughout the visa process, organizing travel arrangement, introducing you to others who are also going overseas on a cultural exchange and help you to prepare for your overseas experience. We are here to answer questions, support and assist through the whole process !
